The Historical Town Centre
If we could go back through the centuries, we'd notice few differences from the current town of Savona. In fact, It is still one of the best preserved towns in Liguria. After a bitter struggle for independence, Albenga was annexed to the dominion of Genoa in the thirteenth century, and now, it's one of the main towns in Liguria.

Albenga has the best preserved historic centre of the western Riviera. The historic centre has a typical medieval structure which has been able to keep itself for ages, and it offers a lot of buildings which deserve to be visited such as the Cathedral and the bell tower in St Michele Square, the baptistery, the medieval municipality Old Palace with its Fourteenth-century tower and so on. In addition to be a medieval building on a Romanic centre, the historic part of tAlbenga can be reached by entering the main street. Therefore, Albenga is just waiting for you to let you spend fantastic holidays with all its beauties and giving you unforgettable moments.
