Giant's Causeway
A true masterpiece of nature where nature has really outdone herself. The Giant's Causeway with numerous ancient basalt columns is an attractive place in Northern Ireland can be reached after walking surrounded by a pleasant silence over that by the beautiful mountains on one side and overlooking a beautiful sea on the other. The landscape is really beautiful and exhilarating with the presence of these unique compositions that are located on the coast affected by the sea and wind. A very popular tourist destination, yet carefully observed so that, in 1986, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. About 40000 hexagonal basalt columns generally (but sometimes also with a square base, pentagonal, heptagonal and octagonal) reaching, at high points, even 12 feet high and forming a unique backdrop.
