A typical delicacy of Favara (in the province of Agrigento) consists of marzipan and pistachio paste, for those who love the sweet taste of tradition. The marzipan is obtained by hot working of ground almonds, sugar and water, while the pistachio paste, which is the filling, is obtained from hot chopped pistachios, sugar and water and both ingredients help to give the cake taste irresistible. A grated lemon rind and vanilla scent give the agnello pasquale (paschal lamb) an aroma and a fragrance that can whet the appetite of the most discerning palates.
