Gallopinto
Delicious national dish of Costa Rica and Nicaragua, widespread and appreciated in the Caribbean (where present some variants), the gallo pinto (spotted rooster in Spanish) is a dish made of rice and beans. The dish contains more than beans and rice while it is uncertain about its origins (which according to some was imported by immigrants from African Americans, although many Latin Americans agree that the dish derives origins in both Nicaragua and in Costa Rica), there is no doubt that the dish is a delicacy unique. Of simple preparation, gallo pinto is so called because it assumes the appearance after cooking rice and beans together, and for the sweet tooth, is irresistible adding a scrambled egg or fried, making gallo pinto a delicacy unique.
