Notre Dame d'Afrique
With an interior truly fabulous, Notre-Dame d'Afrique is a marvelous basilica that stands on the sea, and is undoubtedly a must for anyone who goes on holiday in Algiers. Built in Byzantine style, the basilica is externally characterized by a high dome, cylindrical drum set, while inside, the basilica stands for the worship of a statue of the Black Madonna on the high altar. This is the most important place of Christianity in Algeria, and is situated on a hill overlooking the city. |
