Malasadas
A very tasty treat like a donut, filled, of Portuguese origin, in particular of the island of Madeira. The malasadas (or malassadas) are filled with balls the size of an egg being fried in oil and coated with granulated sugar. These are typical Portuguese pastries that can be filled with various types of cream and are generally consumed during Mardi Gras.
