Limone, (dal latino limes), deve il suo nome alle limonaie che si estendono colorate in terrazzi sopra le case; il limone, infatti, insieme con i suoi centenari uliveti è il frutto caratteristico di questo suggestivo paesino.
Un'altra caratteristica di Limone è il suo centro storico dalle strette viuzze pittoresche con scalinate che portano ad antiche piazzole e vicoli colorati che hanno visto passare personaggi di fama mondiale come Goethe, Ibsen e Lawrence.

Limone, (Limes from the Latin), owns its name to the coloured lemon-houses that crosses in terraces above the houses; in fact, the lemon, together with the centenary olive tree groves is the characteristic of this suggestive small village.
An other Limone peculiarity is its historic centre with its little pictoresque streets with staircases that lead into little ancient squares and coloured alleys where famous people such as Goethe, Ibsen and Lawrence passed.
