Nella splendida piazza del Duomo, cuore del centro storico di questa bellissima città medievale, possiamo visitare i principali monumenti: nel centro dell'omonima piazza troviamo il Duomo, costruito nel XIII secolo, mantiene intatte le bellezze del suo iniziale stile gotico-tedesco; posta sopra un'ampia gradinata di marmo offre una suggestiva facciata marmorea con un grande rosone riccamente decorato. Un altro monumento di particolare interesse è la Torre delle Ore: costruita nel 1530, in seguito subì lavori di restauro che le diede l'aspetto attuale nel 1860. Nel Centro storico troverete anche altri monumenti di particolare bellezza, da non perdere: Palazzo Moroni e la colonna della Libertà che regge il Marzocco. |

In the splendid Duomo Square, the historical centre core of this splendid mediaeval town, we can just admire the main monuments: in the centre of this square there is the Duomo built in XIIIth century that has been keeping the initial German-gothic style beauties; situated on a wide marble staircase, it offers a suggestive marble facade with a big rose window rich in decorations. Another interesting monument is the Hours Tower built in 1530; after its initial building, it has been rostored again and again untill the current appearance in 1860. In the historic centre you can also find other beautiful monuments; you cannot miss: Palazzo Moroni (Moroni's Palace) and the Liberty column that holds the Marzocco. |
