Posta tra la Baia delle Favole e la Baia del Silenzio, Sestri Levante venne fondata dai Liguri Tigulli, ma il ritrovamento di alcuni reperti archeologici come le miniere di rame proverebbero l'antica origine della località. Centro commerciale e portuale in epoca romana, oggi, per i suoi incantevoli e deliziosi paesaggi, e' un importante centro turistico e balneare.
