Chiavari č a la giusta via di mezzo fra la cittā e la classica localitā turistica balneare. Le sue attitudini, infatti, si avvicinano di molto a quelle di una vera e propria provincia. Infatti, Chiavari gode anche di un'importanza storica particolare: prorio qui, infatti, vi nacque Domenico Garibaldi, padre del famosissimo figliolo Giuseppe Garibaldi.
