The Monastery of Saint Anthony
Founded in the mid-thirteenth century, was the first female monastery established in the town of Este. Founded by Beata Beatrice d'Este II on an island in the middle of the river Po, this beautiful monastery still retains its atmosphere of peace and serenity. Este under the protection of the monastery reached its zenith, of particular importance to the beautiful fresco of the seventeenth century. Built in 1376 as a brotherhood of death is certainly considered one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in Palazzolo.
