Realized with thin sheet-like dough, the diples are typical sweets of the Greek culinary tradition able to satisfy the needs of the most discerning palates and for those who love the intense flavors of tradition. Disseminated in particular in the various zones of the Pelponneso, the diples are prepared using precisely puff pastry that is rolled into long strips and thin, fried in hot oil and finally immersed in the syrup that sometimes, the latter can be replaced with warm honey and diples are sprinkled with chopped walnuts and cinnamon. Generally are made in the form of bow-tie or spiral, but sometimes they can also be made with different shapes. Unchi delicacies of their kind that are prepared in particular some holidays like New Year's Day and weddings.
