Berliner Pfannkuchen
With the Austro-German origins, the donut is a sweet appreciated and popular in various parts of Europe and is ideal for a substantial breakfast, for example, together with a good cappuccino to start your day, or simply to delight your palate. Fried in oil or lard, the donut is then filled with jam (usually rosehip but also plum and apricot), cream or Bavarian cream (according to production area) which is injected with a large syringe immediately after frying and, finally, is covered with normal sugar or with sugar, making the sweet a real treat that can be tasted in each momeno of the day. Often called Faschingskrapfen (carnival donuts) in the province of Bolzano, it is produced and consumed mainly during carnival time, the donut is suitable all year round and is a real delicacy for those who love the sweet and intense flavors.
