Chobe National Park
A veritable Garden of Eden, for those who want to spend a holiday in contact with nature. Situated in Kasane, the park is able to offer you unforgettable moments where you can take a trip to enchanting wildlife: elephants, leopards, giraffes, lions, hippos and many other animals thanks to cruises that are organized locally, all in a place where hospitality reigns of the local population. With an area that extends for more than ten thousand kilometers, the Chobe National Park is by far the most famous park in Botswana (and one of the best known of the entire Africa) for the variety and abundance of vegetation as well as the fauna. The park, which was founded in 1967, is especially renowned for its high concentration of elephants here, in fact there are up to 120,000 copies, and is divided into four key areas: the area of ??Serondela (Serondela area), in the extreme northeast corner of the park, characterized by lush plains and forests of teak, overlooking the Chobe River, which borders the park, and where you gather large herbivores such as elephants and buffaloes. It is the most visited area of ??the park, partly because of its proximity to the Victoria Falls. They are located near this area including the town of Kasane and the northern entrance of the park. Not to be missed is however also the area of ??the pond of Savuti (Savuti Marsh area) which forms the western bulge of the park, the pool of Savuti is what remains of a large prehistoric lake, dried up as a result of tectonic movements and to visit for the presence of savanna and grassland, with plenty of wildlife (warthogs, kudu, impala, zebra, wildebeest, elephants, lions, hyenas, cheetahs, and so on). The northwestern part of the park, however, consists of the Linyanti pond, around which grows un'abbonante riverine vegetation, forming several lagoons. The rest of the area consists mainly of alluvial plain, and this part of the park is characterized by a rich fauna: lions, leopards, jackals, antelopes (including the rare Sitatunga), hippos, elephants and crocodiles, as well as a rich birdlife. Finally, it is worth visiting also the hinterland between Linyanti and Savuti, a plain trees which abound in the eland. Inside the park, as if that were not enough, you have many facilities for tourists, including several areas for camping and many lodge for a truly formidable.
